To answer Kevin's question:

I have worked for various Turner branches, but not
usually as a puppeteer. About 10 years ago, Turner
Interactive did a CD ROM game version of "Dinotopia."
It was supposed to rival Myst. You probably didn't
even know it existed. That's a whole other story.

As for the union debate, by the way, we fought for
residuals and accepted a buyout. As a condition of the
settlement I am not allowed to disclose any details,
but now y'all in California can't say we don't stand
up for ourselves in Georgia or at Turner. :-) We
probably even pissed off a lot of people - so there.

Most things I've done at Turner are behind the scenes
and would not include residuals anyway. I lead a
double life as a props person/set dresser. There is a
union for that too. That's a whole other debate as
well.

Oh, and I was on CNN once when they did a story on the
Big Apple Circus Clown Care program. Hmmm - I probably
should have insisted that one be on union terms. Who
was that lawyer we used the last time...

Kevin, I'd be glad to write a small article for the
newsletter. Having edited it in the past, I am
sympathetic to your cause. I will, however, need to
insist on a residual payment of 2 cents per copy
distributed.

Don't take offense out in California. If you know me,
you know that I'm extremely sarcastic and I mean no
offense.

I caught a couple of these by accident - just happened
to land on CN and decided to watch T&J for a while -
one of my favorite classics. I thought the bumpers
were
clever and very funny too. Is this the first time
you've
worked for Turner, or have you done spots for them
in the past? I used to watch CN very regularly
between
1998 and 2002, so I might actually remember something
from that time period.

BTW, this job sounds like a great experience to talk
about
in a APG newsletter article (hint, hint ;-) If you
have
the time, a short sidebar on the union / non-union
debate
would be interesting too, and you could point readers
to the
PuptCrit discussion if they wanted further
information.

Congratulations and have a great holdiay season,

Kevin
