Greetings, All;
Happy Holidays!

Because of a recent occurance here in New Haven, we were prompted to throw 
out a question concerning how those puppeteers on the list who make their living 
with puppetry identify themselves with their local governments (if at all) in 
that they are operating as (or may be considered) a small business? 

Are you registered with your tax office as a small business and as such is 
your equipment, puppets, vehicles, and other equipment subject to a personal or 
business  property tax?

Are you required as one who contracts to (for performances) and is paid by, 
that city, to file any paperwork listing all of the physical assets associated 
with your business? Are you taxed on these items? 

Are you registered with your state government as a business or do you operate 
and file as an individual?
