Subject: [Puptcrit] Puppetry in NYC this Friday!!!

Drama of Works shows off what it's got cooking for the upcoming season...

December 17th (see schedule below)

Performance Space 122

150 First Avenue

Three shows for only $10!

* Come out to support their new piece, “WARHOLtm,” which they'll be performing ten minutes of.

Drama of Works has been accepted into the program New Stuff at Performance Space 122. They will perform “WARHOLtm” there in April/May of 2005. Before this, they will workshop parts of the piece at the University of Toronto’s Festival of Original Theatre in February and Brown University’s International Performance Studies Conference in March. They then hope to take the piece abroad, participating once again in the World Festival of Puppet Art and also in the Prague Fringe Festival, coincidentally held the same weekend. They need your support to make all this happen.

* They'll also be showing their shadow version of “Sleepy Hollow.”

Having just completed a successful run at the Carnival of Samhain 2004, as well as a showing at Puppet Showplace's Puppet Slam in Boston, Drama of Works will continue work on this piece throughout 2005, hopefully performing it again next fall/winter. If you missed it in November and even if you already saw it at Samhain, you know you want to see this magical shadow play again...Admit it, you can't get enough!

* And, as always, they will perform their late-night smash hit, “The Sid & Nancy Punch & Judy Show!”

* Also: silent auctions, raffles and hands-on puppet fun!!!

8pm: doors open! (mingling, dancing, auctions, cheap beer and hands-on puppet stations available throughout the evening)

8:30: 12-minute performance of WARHOLtm

9pm: 8.5-minute performance of Sleepy Hollow

9:30: presentation of silent raffle puppets from Puppet Prom and announcement of auction and raffle winners!

10pm: 15-minute performance of The Sid & Nancy Punch & Judy Show!

Come at any time and stay as long as you want!

All this for only $10.00!

Won’t you help the puppets? Why won’t someone think of the puppets!?!
