Subject: [Puptcrit] A question to the list about teaching artists

Hi everyone

On January 21st I will be on a panel to discuss professionalising teaching
artists in New Jersey sponsored by the New Jersey Arts Education Collective.

One of the topics is the current state of teaching artists and what can be
done to improve the profession.

I would appreciate it if any of you would take a few moments and relate a
short comment about the worst situation you have faced while working in a
school and/or the best. Preferably as a teaching artist but also as a
performer. If you have worked as a teaching artist in the schools what would
you say is the public perception of teaching artists (administration,
teachers, students and general public), would you also be kind enough to
give your suggestions for how to improve the profession and how to improve
our working relationship with the schools.

If you respond please say where you or the story is based, I welcome
comments from anywhere in the world but would like to accurately attribute
them.

For any artists that are in the New Jersey and would like to attend you can
fin information at:www.yanj.org and click on New Jersey Arts Education
Collective.

Thank you all in advance for the help.
