Much of the press surrounding the film's release made a big deal of it. I believe the Maurice La Marche confusion started on the IMdb. Recently heard a funny story that when they first screened the film for executives Matt and Trey showed footage of a horrible looking puppet against a hand-drawn backdrop of Paris and at least one executive screamed "oh no, they f--ked us!" before the shot panned to the real sets and puppets. Those wacky Colorado boys, eh? ---------- Original Message ---------------------------------- From: BiersBlackwood-AT-aol.com Reply-To: puptcrit-driftline.org-AT-lists.driftline.org Date: Thu, 06 Jan 2005 10:29:21 -0500 >Maybe someone involved with the production can give a definitive answer to the Alec Baldwin/Maurice La Marche question, but I think the idea that Alec Baldwin was going to play himself in the movie might have been a rumor before the film actually came out, rather than reflective of the actual casting and recording. > >I could see AB being uncredited for the part... but it's actually crediting it to Maurice, as the end titles and cast lists do, that I think would be unlikely if it wasn't Maurice's voice we were hearing. > >By the way, what has happened to the marionettes used in the film?
