Subject: [Puptcrit] Ronnie Burkett

Was able to catch Ronnie Burkett's show - Provenance last night. Majorly
captivating. His stage presence was outstanding, and his manipulation so
smooth and seamless. The content was, a times, a bit disturbing, but
overall the show was enjoyable. I had front row, just right of centre
stage, so I didn't miss a thing. His use of marionettes, hand puppets and
just the puppet heads (mounted on a headband) took me by surprise. It also
opened my mind to some interesting possibilities of my own. I must say the
quality of each figure was amazing.
I've been trying to see one of his shows for years, but here in Winnipeg,
his shows are usually sold out before the tickets go on sale (members get
first dibs).
A most enjoyable night.
