Is it >true velvet or velour? It has been a number of years since I persued this, that now I've forgotten whether it was velvet or velour. So, I did a search on the internet. It was Triple Velvet that I meant. I've purchased it at fabric stores in Miami. A Google showed many on-line fabric stores which sell it. I saw prices in the $6/yard range with 45" widths. I am curious what is "triple" about triple velvet, so I continued my research... But, I absolutely could not find any explanation of what the "triple" of triple velvet refers to. To take a guess, I believe it may have a denser napp which allows it to absorb light better. The stuff I've used has no sheen at all. But, to confuse things, one of the on-line stores I googled had a metalic triple velour... which obviously had significant sheet. So, I guess the only way to really know how the velours compare in their darkness is to visit a well stocked fabric store and compare them side-by-side.
