I'd try a variable resister wired in series, adjust till the required speed
then disconnect carefully and measure the resistance.....one problemo. ...
resistance turns power into heat...to go from 1420 rpm to say 3 or 4 rpm
will create an amount of heat AND decrease the power to the point that you
would be lucky if the motor turned, let alone pulled the curtain. Bonfiglio
make a range of neat motor/gearboxes but you pay for them! Try a gearbox
from a Meccano set, a cheap car kit etc....... . . . good luck!
