Subject: [Puptcrit] Body Puppet Making/Foot attachm'ts

Thanks Mary. I'm sure it would work. Today, I happened to see flat aluminum
bars at a hardware store.
So if my sandal system doesn't survive my tests (I'm cruel and hearthless
when testing), that's the method I'll try.

What I came up with:
Cheap rubber (or is it plastic?)sandals equiped with velcro. I added another
band of velcro on elastic to the side of the sandal's attachment, to run
behind the puppeteer's heel and attach there. Prevents the sandal from
silliping away during crazy movements.

For stability: I used a thin, but strong metal rod that does not bend
easily. I bent both ends of the rod into triangles with pliers.
I made a slit in the sole of the sandal, and inserted the triangle. (later,
when I am sure, I shall add some Shoe Goop).
For the other triangle (the one that goes into the puppet foot), I taped it
with duct tape to a piece of strong cardboard, added an identical piece on
top to sandwich it. Secured the whole thing with more duct tape. I cut out a
cavity under the puppet foot to inset this "paddlle". It will be glued in
later, but for now it is held with tape.

This way, there is no sideways or up-down movement of the rod in the shoe
or the foot.

Now remains to be seen how the system withstands my challenge.
