Subject: RE: [Puptcrit] Attracting people to festivals Date: Mon, 9 May 2005 18:37:49 -0400 From: "Fall, Brigid" <bfall-AT-TOLEDOLIBRARY.ORG> To: <puptcrit-driftline.org-AT-lists.driftline.org> This is a multi-part message in MIME format. I do think more could be done to make the Festivals cater to a more professional audience. Certainly here in California, we have a lot of puppeteers who work mostly on film and television and in special effects that have never been to a festival, partly because they don't see it as being for them. Hi, All: A lot of good points have been made in this discussion. Let me just add a little something. I'm not sure how festival workshops are chosen exactly, but if you know, or know someone who knows, a professional puppeteer who's doing something new, different or otherwise intriguing, why not personally ask him or her to present a workshop? Encourage him to spread the word to colleagues. Similar to having a themed festival, this may be a way to involve people who think there's nothing for them at festival.
