I met Jay Marshall at the Abbott's Magic Get-Together in 1970 when I was 13. It was a monumental thrill for me because I had seen him numerous times on the Ed Sullivan show. Over the years he would drop into the ventriloquist gatherings and borrow my wooden vent figure and perform for the crowd... something that most puppeteers and vents never got to see. His Punch routine was wonderful and his routine with the glove puppet "Lefty" was hillarious. And of course he was also a great magician. Most of all he was a memorable entertainer. It was enjoyable to meet with him in Chicago at Magic, Inc. where he was company president. Always something to learn from Jay! He was the consumate prefessional.

He will be missed!
