I've been asked to do a show this July that includes the beach, sand castles and storytelling. I've worked out the story and some of the songs and business to move the show along. There are at least 3 puppets to build. I'm building a king and princess out of pool noodles, swimming masks and sand castle toys. They will be dressed in summer beach style attire. These puppets will be manipulated by a single puppeteer (one each). There will be a 'live arm' in each one. The puppet will be held through its back on a rod that runs up into the head and down into a base. I need the base so the puppet can 'sit' unaided to watch other action on the set. The noodle is the neck and the sand pails are the heads. The masks fit over the sand pails. I'm thinking of suspending ping pong balls inside the masks to give they eyes size and movement. I want to make sure that no matter how I hang them, they don't turn around and show only 'the whites of their eyes'. I was thinking of finding some small springs and gluing them to the ping pong balls while screwing them into the plastic in the face masks. Any suggestions on this eyeball dilemma? I'm not married to doing it this way and I'm open to better suggestions. Budget of course is minimal. dave Dave Goboff The Puppet Guild of South Florida, Inc dgoboff-AT-yahoo.com _______________________________________________ List address: puptcrit-AT-lists.driftline.org Admin interface: http://lists.driftline.org/listinfo.cgi/puptcrit-driftline.org Archives: http://www.driftline.org
