I included a padding shape inside to make sure the fit is tight and the hold of the puppet's head is comfortable. The shape still needs work. I tried with a half ball, but I don't see how that helps anyone. I probably need to see an actual pro puppet with this system to see how it is really installed. For now, I have made a triangular prism of closed cell foam (pool noodle again). The curve of the 4 fingers of my hand is comfortable against this shape, and it pushes the hand tight against the roof of the mouth control cavity. Which means less strain on the thumb, who is the one doing all the lower jaw work. The fitting holds in the puppet without being glued there, so I will be able to clean it and make a spare when it is beaten up enough. Anyone here have their own fitting or mouth puppet pattern they'd like to share? Every book I've seen on the subject is generic and skips important information. So i't always back to the drawing board, for each new puppet I build. Can't a puppetguy get "some" rest? LoL Speaking of rest, I have generously permitted myself to get a 4 hour sleep period, so if you'll excuse me... ZZZZzzzzz Mathieu René Créaturiste Marionnettes, Masques, Etcetera...
