Hey Paul,
Are you curing a latex mould or "setting" a foam latex puppet? Most 
latex...well nearly all latex these days is pre-vulcanised and so requires 
no oven curing......For GM Foam latex we used an octagonal top loading glass 
firing kiln ('cause that was what we had that was convenient, reduced 
handling risks and could cope with larger sizes!).
Of course since we have switched to a two part urethane foam we dont have 
any of those problems.........Mixing, choking, injecting, stabalising, 
curing.....failure......
