This particular creation story happened to be an African one, part of the French vogue for things African in the early 20th century. I say this because I think it's important to remember that not all creation stories are based on the Bible: every culture has its own creation stories. If, in our global culture, we assume that the Bible's story has pride of place (is more legitimate than, say, the African story the Ballet Suedois used, or Hopi, Mayan, Hindu, Chinese [etc.] stories), aren't we already making political choices? Also, Brett writes that Marty Robinson's Evolution represented an "opposing point of view" to Creation but aren't things more complicated than that? Don't millions of Christians believe that God created the world and that evolution is in effect? jbell In a message dated 8/8/2005 11:05:47 AM Eastern Standard Time, bdr1020-AT-hotmail.com writes: Personally, I think the title "Creation" says that it will be a Biblical based production. Didn't Marty Robinson do a production called "Evolution"? I could be remembering the title wrong, but it seems to be an opposing point of view. For a long time I've been dreaming on putting together a huge mixed media production like this. I'm thrilled to see that someone has created something like this no matter what the subject matter is. I'm not saying subject matter isn't important. I'm just saying this production just seems like it would be fun to see.
