Teasers are the horizontal border blacks.
Tormentors are the verticle black legs that mask the wings.
When I was 17 I had to know the right stage terms.
Now at 59, nobody elese uses them but they are still in my mind.
Now if only I could recall 5 minutes ago...
Why did I come into this room?

Aniforms, we used to say "Break a thumb." to wish each other good luck,
as the thumb was the main mouth control on our live animation producing
puppets.

On our black light puppetry stages, one of our performers referred to
the black strips of material that hid the florescent tubes from the
audience's sight as "teasers" and "tormentors."  I never knew which were
which, or whether that came from regular stage work or not.
