Subject: [Puptcrit] Marketing on the internet

New Subject

Over the past 4 or 5 years I have been doing a good part of my marketing by
e-mail.
But I don't believe that the e-mails are getting to the person I am sending
them to any longer.

Festival Network Online is a great place to find festivals in the area where
you perform. FNO list the people in charge, the address, phone and e-mail
for each festival. Can't believe that people who publish an e-mail address
for a festival will not open an e-mail addressed to the festival or person
in charge. Aren't they publishing the e-mail just for that purpose?

It sure is cheaper, although much more time consuming, to send the
information
out by e-mail. (I do not send e-mails to groups of people. Everything I
send out is to an individual and addressed to them personally.) Postage is
just eating up my marketing budget. I just spent $275 on 5,000 postcards
and $1,000 to mail them. This was my school mailing - yes, I know it is
late - and I have e-mail addresses for about half those schools. I had send
many of those schools e-mails earlier in the year but did not get many
replies. After talking to a number of those teachers and principles, I
figure that they didn't get them and that sending the e-mails was a waste of
time.

So how are you all handling marketing on the internet?
