We use a bulk rate permit for the PofA Mailings. (Playboard and Directory.) We get a bulk not-for-profit second class rate. We pay full price for First Class because of the low number. We send out less than 2000 pieces every other month, plus the Directory once a year....We use a Mailing House. They have given us some great advice. It saves us some. But I think that's because the addresses are barcoded and sorted. They do this. Seems to me that the cost of a mailing house service would sort of be a wash if you can't take advantage of all or most of the above. I haven't used it but there is a USPS.gov web site that can answer a lot of these questions. Hope this helps... Fred T.
