Subject: [Puptcrit] Jerry Juhl

Brian Henson paid tribute to Jerry Juhl, during the Henson/Muppet stamp ceremony Wednesday, suggesting that both he and Jim could be taking delight in today's ceremony. Jim and Jane Henson WERE the Muppet company at the start, And Jerry made three. It is amazing how much talent the Muppets had among just a handful of people in the early years ---including Frank Oz and the late Don Sahlin. If you knew them you were mighty lucky. They brought new qualities to American and world puppetry, as if they opened a window and a fresh breeze of ideas wafted in.

It was a shock to me and other puppeteers in the audience to learn of Jerry's unexpected passing Monday. But Brian made it more of a celebration of Jerry.

I hope guild members from the San Francisco Bay area can share memories and thoughts about Jerry. Many P of A members will remember attending his script-writing workshops at Regional and National Festivals.--ALAN
