Have I thought of quitting? No. Changing my priorities? Yes. After years
of touring, I realized that I was spending my holidays and weekends
entertaining everyone else and everyone else's kids.. Most of my friends
were married and when I did get home to see them, I was becoming the odd
single. Luckily, that situation changed when I was reunited with a friend
from nine years earlier.

Then, when my wife and I had a daughter, I began to realize that the phrase
"kids grow up too fast" was true and that again my job was interfering with
my personal life.

Now, we've moved to the country where my neighbors have no conception of
what I do, all work 9-5 jobs and have built very pleasant lives for
themselves. It's enviable.

Still, the call of puppetry is strong. Perhaps I'll be able to build that
resident puppet theater and be able to work closer to home.
