Subject: [Puptcrit] Beauty and the Beast Rose


Hey all....  I'm going to make THE rose for the musical Beauty and the Beast for a high school production.  I do scenic work there, but the director has asked me to do the rose as well, since I'm a puppeteer!  Fancy that....  Just wondering if any of you have done that.  The petals need to drop off in the last scenes in view of the audience.  Don't want them to just plop....  We're not going to do a marionette bridge for this, so the manipulation will be under a table.  I'm thinking bell jar (where can you get one of those?) and either rods or mono filiment.  Any thoughts?  Any drawings previously done?  Thanks!!!
