I took puppet class (marionettes, all summer long) when I was 8. Only 2 of us stayed in touch with Lora Pattison, the WPA Recreation Project instructor, and that lack of feedback is not unusual. But some of it filters back, YEARS later! And because I benefitted from puppet class, it is an impulse to give back, and teach. How many critters are also teaching the next generation? What are some of the funny experiences, the succsses, the crises? ALAN COOK Out of each class of 20, only one is needed with the spark ignited to become a puppeteer and love the art, with libraries and community centers in all 50 states that 1 in 20 students bitten by the bug, will total in the thousands nationwide and will bring new blood to the art. if everyone that could would dedicate just 30 days of each year less then 10% of their year teaching the art and history of puppetry you will see a surge in interest like you have never seen before. and the POA membership swell two to three times its present level.
