Video and audio were both going out live, so it would be hard for them to get out of sync. And in all the kinescopes of KFO I've seen (close to 100) the sync is fine, as judged by Fran's lips. I just think it was Burr's idiosyncratic way of puppeteering. It really bothers a friend of mine; I just ignore it. Who knows, maybe dragons don't believe in lip sync!
