It dries fairly hard and is not easy to sand. It seals and strengthens the foam, which can then be painted, even with spray paint. This makes it popular for prop shops. Spray paint would dissolve unsealed Styrofoam. Carving pink or blue insulation Styrofoam from the home improvement store, sealing with Sculpt or Coat, and painting, makes for an easy, inexpensive and light weight puppet or prop construction.
