My 2 bits,

I spent many years in Java, where it was, and is, a fairly common 
occurrence to see a wayang kulit performance by a Christian puppeteer, 
performing Hindu Mahabharata and Ramayana stories, for an audience 
comprised of Muslims.

So lets learn from this example, hold hands, sing "Kumbaya," and keep 
the discussion to puppetry.

I, for one, am very curious how Indonesian puppeteers are responding to 
the "cartoon crisis", and what the clown characters - Petruk, Gareng, 
Bagong, Semar, Tualen, Merdah etc... are saying about it. I'll ask 
around and get back to the list, but perhaps there is an Indonesian 
puppeteer on this list?
