If anyone wants to read it, I'd be happy to email it to them... john bell great small works -----Original Message----- From: puptcrit-bounces-AT-lists.driftline.org on behalf of Daniel McGuire Sent: Sun 2/26/2006 10:51 AM To: puptcrit-AT-lists.driftline.org Cc: Subject: Re: [Puptcrit] Evangelist aims for reliance on Genesis, not genetic theory- Puppets Mary, Of course politics and puppetry are relevant to this list. But ad hominim attacks on "Moslems", with Arafat's corruption used as exhibit "A", are not relevant - or at least I couldn't follow Robert's train of thought. Robert's blanket statement, that Moslems "tolerate terrorists who blow up innocent people" is as accurate as the statement "Christians tolerate terrorists who blow up medical clinics and murder doctors who perform abortions". (after all, I didn't see the evangelicals take to the street and protest those acts of terrorism). Timothy McVeigh considered himself to be an evangelical, born-again Christian reconstructionist. I never heard a peep from the evangelical movement denouncing McVeigh's brand of Christianity. Does that mean Christians " tolerate terrorists who blow up innocent people." ? Only if I followed Robert's contorted freeper logic could I arrive at that conclusion. The furor over the Danish cartoons has become a rallying point for Moslems who have a very long list of grievances, Robert. Among those grievances are dictatorial theocratic, and corrupt regimes throughout the middle east that are supported by the United States, invading oil-rich Moslem countries on the basis of false intelligence, massacres of Moslems in Hebron and Bosnia and many other places, by Christians; torture and murder of Moslems in places like Guantanamo, etc... need I go on? The current furor in America over ownership of ports by a Moslem country is a similar tempest in a teapot - it does not really represent a threat to American security, except that it becomes a rallying point for cynical politicians, as well as people with genuine concerns about issues such as foreign ownership of strategic assets, national security, outsourcing of American jobs, Corruption and cronyism in the Bush administration, etc... Getting back to the original issue, Paul Zaloom did a wonderful piece called "My Civilization" in which he expounds on Evolution in his own inimitable style. Puppeteers interested in confronting the creationists might want to take a look. I'll try to put it up on "youtube".
