You're right Anne, it would make a very interesting artistic statement, 
but the first thought that popped into my head when I read your post 
was, "And I'd like to see a marionette made of aerogel" - which is a 
kind of glass meringue, composed of the same material as glass, but 
containing 99.8% air. The high-tech material is sometimes referred to as 
"frozen smoke" because of it's appearance, and it would make a very 
ghostly looking puppet. Though it can be shattered like glass under the 
right circumstances, it is reportedly quite strong for its weight - it's 
main drawback being it's expense.
