Hi Guys, I assume here that you are talking about a velvet that reflects no light. Around here (Idaho) they call it velveteen. I think most large fabric outlets would carry a black velveteen. I got it on sale a few years back at JoAnn Fabrics for $5.00 per square yd. It was normally around $ 12.00.
