If you ever have seen bugs in a sealed box of old flour the natural conclusion is the bug eggs are already in the flour, just not hatched yet. Yum! That is why we used Higgins' Vegetable Glue in the 1930s. I have not seen it in decades unfortunately, but it made great papier mache and was worth the extra cost since the resulting puppet heads were and still are bug-free. I wonder if there is a similar product today? Any clues?
