Subject: Re: [Puptcrit] Puppet show for Nutrition Education

Hey, Kathy, is Food Rocks still at Epcot? I remember it replaced the former
audio-animatronic puppet show, "The Kitchen Kabaret," some years ago.
Sadly, Mr Eggs, the ovoid vaudevillian who had co-hosted the Kabaret, ended up
lying on his side awaiting pick up by a passing garbage truck behind the Kraft
Pavilion, once the shows (and sponsors) changed. At least, that's where I last
saw the Mr Eggs puppet.

The only characters who survived the transition were a very Muppety-looking
gallon of milk, who crooned 1930s style into a standing microphone (he had a
pencil-thin moustache), and the chilled but lovely ladies-- dairy products all--
he musically introduced from his perch on the lowest shelf in the fridge.

In a bit of Disney trivia, there was, for a short time, talk of adding a live
puppet show to the food pavilion, once Nestle replaced Kraft and "Food Rocks"
replaced the "Kitchen Kabaret." However, it never made it to a pitch to our
higher ups, or to Nestle. It would have operated like the late lamented
"Legend of the Lion King" or the on-going "Voyage of the Little Mermaid" live
puppetry show. It would have been based on a very popular children's book. It
would have been neat. It would have been about... candy.
