Subject: Re: [Puptcrit] Puppet kidnapped from parked car

Funnily enough, I was Artistic Director at Concerned Kids while they were
making a transition after the founder had to leave. They're the largest Kids
on the Block affliated program in the world as far as I know and do an
absolutely insane number of shows. It's been cut back because of funding
issues but the year I was there we put together fourteen (14!) different
puppet shows in two and half months with 40 volunteers who had no prior
puppetry experience. Great program and the volunteer puppeteers are great
people and very committed.

The real crime if you ask me is that Kids on the Block charges $1,000 for
one of those Joanne puppets. They're poorly built, extremely difficult to
operate and the quality of the work with the puppets is disgusting. They
also lock groups like Concerned Kids who work with them in to very one-sided
contracts that only allow them to buy puppets from them (KotB) at prices
they set.
