Isn't the Cherry Orchard the play that has Masha in it?
And when asked why she always wears black she says, "because I am in 
mourning for my life".

I think of that sometimes when the kids in my audience ask why I am wearing 
black gloves....

Of course I am not in mourning for my life but it so a great line!
