I'm worried about my favorite file. It's a big one, a half circular shape. I must have forgotten to wipe it dry after rasping some fresher wood or something else. It's got some rust on it. It doesn't seem very deep. How can I remove it? I'd prefer some safer alternatives before I attempt to use CLR or vinegar on it (corrisives). I do have a steam machine that comes with hard brushes. But since steam is water, would it be safe to use if I dried it right after the cleaning job? Is there way to treat the metal to prevent rust, without risking transfering such a treamtent to the surfaces I'll work with the tools? Such advice could come in handy for my other classic tools as well. Thanks in advance! Mathieu René Créaturiste Marionnettes, Masques, Etcetera...
