Hi all My third glue-gun, the best I ever tried, just died on me. Nearing the completion of a contract, of all inopportune moments. I suspect the cord. It,s always the cord who dies first. I'll try to fix it as best I can tonight, but upon failure I am planning to buy another gun tomorrow, just to finish the project and not go over my deadline.. I was using an Arrow. the simple model with nothing fancy, but it's been faithful and strong up until now. I had tried it on a few occasions before buying this model, as it had been chose by two different theatre companies I worked for, and they had them for years. When I bought mine it lasted me a year. The other models I've tried were all weak and died within 6 months. My most expensive one cost me 40$ and lasted me less than a day. I couldn't return it because it looked like I had been a savage with it. While it was only a piece of crap because of the cheap aluminum threading on the end. One attempt to change the head and the threading was gone. It was a multi-head glue gun. I special ordered it. Never again if it has aluminum threading. Oh, it still works electrically speaking, but it is useless without a proper beak. It just melts glue and drools it. So, I'm wondering if anybody can help me locate the best hot glue gun. The one they can reccomend without any hesitation, the ultimate faithful friend! Can you also reccomend steps to improve the strenght of the cord? I already avoid models with a removeable cord, because it is so much trouble trying to find a replacement when it fails (hardware stores around here really avoid making special orders). For those unfamiliar with hot glue, just believe me on the following: -I can't work without it (especially for temporary holding items, or for permanently attaching fur or hair on puppets. -I know how to use a glue gun, they are just too darn fragile or badly designed.
