I keep my clay in a metal container - a wood or cardboard box would absorb
the oil. I've been making plaster of paris casts of my clay sculptures for
years and there has been no deterioration of the clay's softness or
durability.

Speaking of molds and saving things: four years ago I moved my workshop to a
new location about three hours away. It took several truckloads. I had a
wall of shelves filled with plaster molds. One show alone had thirty molds.
I asked myself, do I really have to cart these along? I chose a few
favorites and dumped the rest. Sometimes I wish I had taken a few more.
