My parents used to take me often. But your question is interesting ecause it assumes that: 1) people who don't think as you do or who say there is a better way are really hypocrites at bottom; and 2) there is no choice but to do things we know are wrong. Hey, guilty pleasures, right? Since your response to me had absolutely nothing to do with puppetry let me turn it back at least in some small way to the general purpose of this discussion group. Forget eating at McDonald's or spending money there. What about taking money from a corporation you think is raping the environment? McDonald's has employed puppeteers and puppet builders to advertise its product, and to children, specifically, for years. Now that we can't claim total ignorance about the effects of its good work on the earth and on a generation or two of fat Americans (and even Europeans), can people who claim to care about any of these issues continue to work for a corporation like that? I mean, it's a gig, right, and puppeteers have to eat, right? So if you think McDonald's is somehow a bad company, as your question to me suggests, would you accept its blood money? What about other entities you find questionable? Would getting paid, maybe to do shows that were personal to you and "had the right message", be the greater good to you?
