Subject: [Puptcrit] Celastic


I was under the impression that celastic was no longer available.
I used it for masks and puppets for a number of years.
I usually was working outdoors or had good ventilation, but I sometimes 
did not wear gloves when doing very detailed work. I loved the light 
weight and so durable results, but hated the toxicity and as well as 
the high flammability of the acetone.
After we stopped using it I thought I also read somewhere that storing 
it was very dangerous too, due to a gun powder like explosive quality 
of the celastic itself.
We had stored indoor rolls of three different weights that we purchased 
at a great price one summer. Scary.
