Hello Melissa and welcome to the fun house.
   Needle felting is a type of puppet building that is fairly rarely 
seen - here or in general. Not totally unique, but not common either. 
Not much on it on this list that I can recall, but it is sometimes a 
workshop at various Puppeteers of America Festivals. Feel free to 
share, maybe some of your fellow felters will pop up on the list.
