I wanted to check out the options for sound cue playback. The old Radio Shack manually controled we use at the puppet theater has lost one channel, and they are no longer being sold. We may have to jump to a new technology when it bites the dust. I was surprised to find a small 4-track recorder which had manual buttons. So, we can still turn it on and off using a power switch. It was the Tascam MF-P01 Porta Studio, $99. I asked about MP3 players for Disk Jockies, figuring the solid state playback was a good thing. But, was surprised that they didn't have any. They did have a top loading CD player with nice big buttons, and a "playing" light. It was the Stanton S250 Table Top CD Player, $99. However, I really suspect the solidstate MP3 player will eventually take over. But, we will have to wait until something comes along with larger buttons and some lights on it to really make it viable for professional used.
