Under your criteria, our Eco education productions would fall under Eco Activism. Our goal, with these productions, is to educate about the effects man has on the natural world to as many of our local and world community members as we can. We have one show that is based on Toothed Whale and Dolphin evolution. We open a new production, "Birds in History", in two weeks. The production revolves around two species of North American birds that are extinct today, mainly by man's hands. The third bird is the American Bald Eagle, brought to the brink of extinction and then brought back. Both it's endangered status and it's recovery occurring due to man's actions. Unfortunately, I understand that the world community did not learn the DDT lesson and now other birds such as the Egyptian Ibis hang in the balance. I believe we, the puppetry community, are poised in a very effective art form to help sway social and environmental changes for the better. I certainly hope so. But, I hope we don't ever loss sight of the "telling a good story" end of our performance work. Liz -- K.
