Whoah, same wavelength!

Nothing to add, really, except to reiterate what has already been written.

Some tips:

Planes, Planes, Planes!  It's really true that you can capture the
likeness in planes alone.  In between 'finished work' I will do some
studies of just planes.  When I get back to finished work, it's always a
touch better than before from doing that.

There's quite a few academies with sculpting programs, I'm not sure which
part of the world you're in, but I think http://www.sculpture.org/ has a
lot of info on North American schools/teaching studios.
