I'd like to second the notion of being extra, quadruply cautious when evaluating art materials for those reasons. If you can find a copy, track down The Artist's Complete Health and Safety Guide (Graphic Artists Guild, publisher). It has lots of good info- everything from how to read Material Safety Data Sheets to setting up ventillation in your work area properly, the pros and cons of various art materials, etc. etc., and I highly recommend it. Gee, I'm posting all over tonight. . . As always, Hope it helps!
