This puppet is of the Sicilian Marionette type.  It is hard to judge from 
the photo whether it is an actual antique or not.  There are many "aged" 
reproductions out there.  I am surprised that you are wondering whether it 
is worth putting the puppet up for auction on eBay.  Everything, including 
the kitchen sink, seems to be for sale.
