FWIW.

   I've never seen a "string method" mold suitable for a 5-7 inch head that 
was tight enough for pouring neoprene.   Use whatever method you like, but once 
at a PofA Workshop, I watched someone demonstrate this "string method", used 
20 min. plaster, which hardened so fast it was impossible to pull the string.  
 

    For making 2-3 inch heads for plastic wood or papier machie, it might 
work well, but as already been posted, there are too many disasters to rely on 
this method, but to each his own.   I need a sturdy mold capable of a couple of 
dozen pulls.    Jim Gamble
