People who make a living in puppetry have to produce shows that people will
buy. Shows have to be marketable. In Dallas/Fort Worth, there are some
people who know who I am and people will come see a show because I'm in it.
So my name has a little bit of market value. However, most of my shows are
sold for other reasons. Pirates are popular now so people want to buy pirate
shows. Schools and libraries want to buy educational shows, etc. Even though
I create shows with themes I know people want to buy, I get to put my own
values in them. This way I get to say what I want to say and get paid for

Some people are so popular that audiences will pay just to see them. I'm not
one of those popular people and I think few of us have names that will draw
huge crowds.

Just my two cents,

Brett Roberts
