Subject: [Puptcrit] My experience with Gesso

Hello, everybody! 
 This is my first time on Puptcrit and I  wish to thank you for the great joy that your conversations about  puppetry have been bringing to me over the last few weeks. 
  About gesso... I usually cover dry  papier-mache with numerous layers of Gesso or as many layers as  necessary for a nice thick polished finish of the papier-mache head.  Between layers, I wait until Gesso is perfectly dry, so I can sand it a  bit for an even look of the surface. Haven't had any cracks yet in a  papier-mache-gesso head and if I knock into the papier-mache head  sounds good, like dry hard timber.
