Love the two dimmers flipped idea. Elegant simplicity! We use two rotary
dimmers so it takes two hands to do the fade. We have been using projectors
like this for years. One of them we special wired to operate the fan
separately, but it was a bit of a pain as the modification voided any warranty and
now you needed two outlets to plug the OP in. With the others we threw caution
to the wind and used them with the dimmer and no modification. They last
for many years, hundreds of performances. We drop them off the cart before
they overheat. Of course, the amount of time they are not full on or full off
is very short - just enough for the fade.

Thanks for these tips - the "two dimmers flipped" idea is what I've
done; it worked great with normal bulbs - and today I tried it with to
OP's and it worked well. Need to figure out the wiring to the fan -
make it independent of the light - so it can be kept on throughout.
