With good care, my latex puppets last about 12 years. My hard cast neoprene puppets coated with gesso, and acrylic paints kept at normal temperatures and no exposure to UV last at least 30 years..and still going strong. My "flexible" neoprene puppets become more and more stiff in a few months. Only with a heat gun (or hair dryer) can I get the mouths to work temporarity. You can mix latex with neoprene, but I haven't the time to do the experimenting... Jim Gamble > I've read in amny place that neoprene, beiong a latex-based product, can > last about the same as a latex. I've read about pieces lasting at up to 30 > years!=A0 For most applications, 20 years of life is very good, and much more > than enough. > _______________________________________________ List address: puptcrit-AT-lists.driftline.org Admin interface: http://lists.driftline.org/listinfo.cgi/puptcrit-driftline.org Archives: http://www.driftline.org
