I have a hard time believeing it, 40 pounds sounds like very much!
For reference 50 pounds is a huge bag of plaster. Plaster seems heavier than
wood in equal volume. So such a small item as a marionette weighing fourty
pound sounds exagerated for effect.
I read in an article recently that Burkett is a storyteller. They tend to be
"bigger than life".

Or am I wrong?

He if is such a good carpenter as what I read, he should know woods that are
both strong and lighter than say, Oak?
