Two things I would recommend - Join the Puppeteers of America, and check with the Puppetry Store of P of A to get Luman Coads book of Martin Stevens Puppetry course. Steve was one of Americas greatest puppeteers - along with Rufus and Margo Rose, and Steve and Rufus worked together on many projects. I believe they jointly designed one of the best hand puppet stages going and the plans for it are in the Stevens book. I toured for Steve for some time and built one of these stages for myself. I could go into a school with one trip - puppets- stage, sound system and be set up to perform in 10 minutes. The stage folds up and becomes a carrying case for the puppets, lights, and curtains. I gave my stage to an Indian boy in Whapaton, N.D. many years ago, but have since then built one of the stages for another puppeteer. I'm not interested in building another one, but if I can build one with Steves plans - anyone can. Good luck - Fred Cowan _______________________________________________ List address: puptcrit-AT-lists.driftline.org Admin interface: http://lists.driftline.org/listinfo.cgi/puptcrit-driftline.org Archives: http://www.driftline.org
